Hi, Fayza.

I do a blog and a podcast now. I find that I tend to do my rants on my blog, where I also have the option of deleting the entry. I doesn't disappear, really; it's still cached on Google, out in the RSS feed and so on. But at least I have some freedom to take it back down.

I find, with the podcast, I simply don't want to do rants. It doesn't sound right, there. When I say it out loud, it sounds completely different. And on the podcast I have to review it several times -- writing it, editing the writing, recording it, then editing the recording. By the time the actual Show is posted, I've pretty well adjusted it to what I am willing to stand by -- not toned down, but more balanced and (usually) more calm.

Add to that, my usual talk is surrounded by music. So it sounds better (than it deserves), and the talk really has to suit that music. And I have such a deep, resonant, soothing voice, it even soothes me! ;-)

You might consider a podcast as an additional option. Not particularly hard to do, a bit harder to do well. And you can even do some things with your photography, but that's another discussion.

I think you do just fine, blogwise. Mine? I've currently got two and a half; one regular Blogger blog, one as Shownotes for the podcast, and a more utilitarian one with which I haven't done much.

Sounds like a bit of maturing going on for you. It's a Good Thing.

Doncha just hate it when that happens, though?

I wish I had some wisdom for you, because I've struggled with the same thing. It's funny, though, because my experience has gone in almost the opposite direction, in that until recently, I've not really had the DESIRE to write about those things so deeply personal that I really couldn't bear for them to be archived on the internets for all of time. And yet for some reason there is this overwhelming urge to share, and I have no place to share. There is no 13 Celsius online for me.

There is a point where too much is revealed on some blogs.
I was actually thinking about this yesterday myself...

I've learned the hard way about establishing boundaries when it comes to blogging. Up until the past couple of weeks, I was pretty much over social media altogether. Then, some shite went down in my personal life--and I felt like I needed the forum again. Still, I'm finding myself being very careful about who has access to what.

Right now, I'm keeping my personal blog personal--though not as personal as it's been in the past. I don't put more than my first name on it--but, if you know me sorta well, it's not terribly difficult to identify. I tend to be honest with people in my life, regardless. However, I've been hesitant to link my blog/Twitter to my Facebook account. For some reason, it makes me feel too exposed to include it there.

My more recent blog entries have probably opened up more than I've wanted to in the recent past. But I've actually posted and then deleted a few hours later a lot lately.

I think the answer, at least for me, is to funnel the emotions and gory details into more creative writing projects. I'm about to start a new play, for instance, that deals with relational issues--and, now that I'm going through relationship angst, it'll help to explore those feelings in that safe zone of creativity.
